On November 12th, the reporter learned from the graphene preparation technology and industrial application group of Northwest University that the team's many breakthroughs in graphene research and industrialization made it possible to reduce the battery volume and increase the capacity.
On the same day, at the Laboratory of Optoelectronic Technology and Nano-Functional Materials at Northwestern University, the reporter saw a solar panel that was working in the early winter sunshine. Professor Wang Hui, the head of the research team, said that the front electrode of this solar panel was made of high-density silver powder of graphene developed by the team. The silver powder material prepared by the technology has the characteristics of high sphericity, good dispersibility, uniform particle size, high tap density and superior electrical conductivity. As early as 2010, the research team successfully developed high-vibration solid-state silver powder materials for solar cell front electrodes that are urgently needed in domestic and foreign markets, and passed small tests, pilot tests, and industrial amplification. At present, on the basis of it, the silver powder material with a tap density close to 6g/cm3 has been developed, reaching the world advanced level.
Large-scale preparation of high-quality, large-size, low-cost graphene is the biggest bottleneck in industrialization. The research group realized the mass production of high-performance graphene, and the batch output reached kilograms.
Lithium-ion battery electrodes are an important area in which graphene is currently used. By introducing graphene technology, lithium-ion batteries can simultaneously meet the energy density and power density requirements of the electric vehicle field. Up to now, the research group has completed the industrial scale-up test of the graphene-modified graphite lithium anode material with a yield of 500 kg. The product performance has reached the national standard high-performance graphite anode material index. At the same time, the laboratory prepared a variety of graphene lithium battery anode materials exceeding 1000mAh / g (milliampere per gram, mass specific capacity unit), in parallel with international research.
Wang Hui introduced that the relevant research in our province started early and was in sync with the world advanced level. At the same time, Shaanxi has a large number of high-quality natural graphite resources, and has a good foundation for the development of graphene industry. At present, what needs to be completed is to transform laboratory technology into commercially available products as soon as possible, occupying the front end of the industrial chain. The research group is actively building a platform to promote the industrialization of graphene lithium battery anode materials with a capacity of close to or greater than 500 Amh/g in our province as soon as possible.
