According to the latest statistics from the customs, in 2015, the total import and export volume of the instrumentation industry was 67.6 billion U.S. dollars, and the total volume of imports and exports fell for the first time since 2009. Among them, the import amount was 41.4 billion U.S. dollars, and the export volume was 26.2 billion U.S. dollars, with a deficit of 15.2 billion U.S. dollars, hitting a new low for six years. The weak domestic market demand, the increase in the level of domestic companies, leading to a significant reduction in imports; the weakness of the international market not only affected the export of high-end products of foreign-funded enterprises in China, but also had a certain impact on the export of low-end products of domestic enterprises. The result of the superposition of the two markets created the conditions for the drop in the import and export deficit.
Compared with last year, imports fell by 5.36% year-on-year, and exports rose by 0.46% year-on-year. The last negative growth in the instrumentation industry was in 2009.
For the whole year of 2015, the import of instruments and meters continued its downward trend in 2014. In addition to a slight rebound in March, all other months were negative. From January to December, 57.1% of the 161 products decreased year-on-year.
