On October 10, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology promoted the research and formulation of mandatory national standards for the performance requirements and test methods of passenger car tire pressure monitoring systems. The National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee Automotive Electronics and Electromagnetic Compatibility Subcommittee was approved by the National Standardization Administration Committee. The requirements of the Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry, Industry and Information Technology, and the establishment and the first meeting of the Working Group on the Research and Development of Passenger Car Tire Pressure Monitoring System in Ningbo were organized. More than 40 people from domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers, tire pressure monitoring systems (hereinafter referred to as "TPMS") and related product manufacturers, tire manufacturers, testing and research institutions and experts attended the meeting. Based on the TPMS products and technology status of the Chinese market, the conference focused on the TPMS function, and reached a preliminary consensus on the core functions and additional functions of the TPMS. The performance and indicators will be further determined based on the TPMS products and their functions. The meeting discussed and approved the future work plan of the working group, and requested the participating enterprises to apply to the TPMS of the enterprise in accordance with the requirements of the “Notice on Conducting the Investigation of the Function, Performance and Test Methods of Passenger Vehicles TPMS†issued by the National Automobile Standardization Committee in September this year. The functions, performance, indicators and test methods of the products are sorted and sent to the Automotive Standardization Research Institute of China Automotive Technology and Research Center in written form. The TPMS standard covers the interests of all parties, such as automobile manufacturers, TPMS and related product manufacturers, and has received attention from all parties. The meeting called for coordination and cooperation between the parties and from the perspective of the state and industry to jointly carry out research and formulation of standards.
