"Band-Aid Sensor" has been successfully developed

On July 5, a seminar was held at the Nano Micro Business in Japan held by the Tokyo Big Sight International Convention and Exhibition Center to introduce the achievements and promotion plans of the ongoing Japanese government project Social Sensor Mapping System Development Project. The conference opened up the development of a sensor module that can be built just by pasting like a Band-Aid to build a sensor network.

The project aims to develop flexible sensor modules and related technologies with wireless communication capabilities and independent power capabilities. The sensor module can be affixed to the object like a band-aid, sensing the surroundings and sending data wirelessly at a cost of around 1,000 yen. Easy to set up and low cost, it can be used in large quantities in factories, offices and shops.

At the symposium, a speech was given to the Green Sensor Network Institute under Japan's NMEMS Technology Research Institute, a technology research consortium jointly developed with Japan's New Energy Industry Technology Development Agency (NEDO). The Band-Aid Sensor Module under development uses a configuration that overlaps a flexible antenna incorporating a highly integrated MEMS sensor with a flexible power storage element. The size of 2cm × 5cm, the same as the Band-Aid, the thickest part of the thickness of about 1mm. Key technologies are currently being developed and samples are scheduled for completion in March 2014.

This sensor consists of a current / magnetic field sensor, a dust sensor, a CO2 concentration sensor, a VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) concentration sensor, and an infrared array sensor. CO2 concentration sensors are measured using CO2-adsorbed ionic liquids. Self-powered power supplies are made of organic dye-sensitized photoelectric conversion elements and storage capacitors that generate electricity under room light, and thin-film bendable devices made of organic semiconductor nanofibers are also being developed. According to reports, the power generation capacity of 150μW target has been achieved about 80%. As for the wireless communication function, a method suitable for a wireless sensor terminal has been developed, which can communicate at a low power consumption of about 100 m and recognize the distance using a spectrum diffusion technique.

Tokyo Electric Power and 7-11 Japan also participated in the project as a user. Tokyo Electric Power Co., Ltd., which delivered a speech at this seminar, conducted consulting business to expand the electricity consumption ratio in the process of promoting energy-saving work to customers. The consultancy business has begun to transform from a traditional method of promoting energy-saving equipment updates to a sensor-based approach to application improvement programs. 7-11 From the example of using a sensor in a convenience store, we found that it is possible to improve profitability. As a result, the company changed the orientation of the sensors from "energy-saving" defensive tools to "offensive" offensive strategies.

Soot Blower

Soot Blower 002 Jpg A soot blower is a system for removing the soot that is deposited on the furnace tube of a boiler during Combustion. Various types of soot blowers such a wall blowers, long retractable blowers and air heater blowers are used for cleaning.

There are follolwing types of soot blowers. Rotary soot blowers (RSB) and long retractable soot blowers (LRSB). Rotary soot blowers rotate at a fixed position. In long retractable soot blowers the lancer enters into flue gas path and also rotates like rotary blowers, steam sootblowers, sonic soot blowers, etc
