Meng Menglong introduced that this fuel is prepared by adding 99% ethanol to 1% additives. The advantage is that the fuel supply has good continuity and strong power. The vehicle load does not have to be downshifted on uphill slopes, and the exhaust emissions meet Euro III standards. The important thing is that the cost is low and the price is more than 2,000 yuan per ton. But the consumption is slightly higher than gasoline, and the overall cost is 40% of gasoline. In late August, they tested the power, economy, and emission characteristics of ethanol fuel at an authoritative agency for supervision and inspection of automobile products in Shaanxi Province. The test results show that this ethanol fuel has the same dynamic performance as that of No. 93 gasoline, in which the power in the low-speed area is reduced and the power in the high-speed area is increased; the exhaust emission CO is zero, the HC is reduced by 11.6%, but the effective fuel consumption rises. 68.1%.
Meng Menglong expressed deep doubts about the fuel consumption in the inspection results and indicated that he would go to Beijing for further inspection. Gao Huaqiang, head of the Xi'an Clean Fuel Vehicle Coordination and Leading Group Office, said on this matter that as long as the ethanol fuel consumption is 1.3:1 compared with gasoline, it has economic advantages and the promotion value and prospects will be very considerable. For both parties' controversial fuel consumption, Gao Huaqiang analyzed that the ethanol fuel may be tested using a gasoline engine and the error in consumption is large.
