Recently, the petrochemical plant of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company has succeeded in the technological research on the implementation of the production problem of “high ethylene content in high pressure methane” of olefin plants. The loss of ethylene caused by high ethylene content in high-pressure methane is greatly reduced, and 168 tons of ethylene can be increased per month, creating an economic benefit of 7 million yuan per year.
The olefin plant of the petrochemical plant was an ethylene production plant that was completed and put into operation in 1996. In June 2003, the capacity of ethylene production was increased from 160,000 tons per year to 240,000 tons currently. For a long time, when the device is in a high-load production state, the ethylene content in the high-pressure methane is more than 2% on average, which is much higher than the design value of 0.3% and is not easy to control stably. The high ethylene content in the high-pressure methane not only causes the loss of the ethylene product, but also causes the methane to easily polymerize and clog the equipment under high pressure, thereby affecting the stability of the production and reducing the service life of the equipment.
At the beginning of this year, the research team consisting of factory and workshop technicians was established. Through the search for information, exploration and practice, research and discussion, many factors causing high ethylene content in high-pressure methane were identified from personnel, equipment, raw materials, and processes. Based on the analysis on a one-by-one basis, three main reasons were found: low temperature and high pressure methane pump seal leakage, low methane refrigeration compressor air intake, and low ethylene compressor suction temperature. In early June, the team succeeded in retrofitting the low-temperature and high-pressure methane pump seals with the help of factories and workshops, which enabled the continuous and stable operation of the pump with leaking seals for 94 days. In the middle of June, the favorable timing of the overhaul of the equipment was used. , Replacement of the first and second stage valve of the methane refrigeration compressor, so that the amount of compressor air pumping is increased from the previous 2890NM2 per hour to more than 3420 NM2; since July, through the optimization of the process operation, a section of the ethylene compressor has been imported The temperature drops below -96°C.
After the implementation of the research, the operation of the device for more than four months showed that the research results were very significant: the ethylene loss in high-pressure methane dropped from the average 2.22% before the attack to 0.1%, which was lower than the design value. According to the cost of 4,200 yuan per ton of ethylene, a monthly output value of 705,000 yuan can be added. At the same time, the service life of the equipment is increased.
