Evergreen Park Pirsch featured in ad

Firegeezer.com occasionally shares a feature called “Looking Back,” where he highlights vintage advertisements from Fire Engineering Magazine, specifically from the 1950s. Recently, one such ad from April 1957 showcased Peter Pirsch & Sons of Kenosha, Wisconsin. The ad included a drawing of a mid-ship quint from Evergreen Park, offering a glimpse into firefighting equipment from that era. An article from 1981, written just a few years before the company closed its doors, provides more insight into the history of Peter Pirsch & Sons. You can read it [here](#).

Bill Friedrich shared this image of the unit as it was deployed in Evergreen Park, matching their yellow firetrucks. This 1965 mid-ship quint had a 750-GPM pump, 250 gallons of water, and a 65-foot ladder. The truck also featured a Federal Q siren and two 888 warning lights on the fenders, along with a roof beacon, making it look quite modern for its time.

This photo shows the same truck after it was repainted black over red by a local shop. The Q siren has been relocated from the fender to the bumper, giving it a slightly different appearance while still maintaining its original functionality.
