It’s John Tulipano again. Around 9 PM on April 26th, 2015, the Wheaton Fire Department received a call about a house fire at 1190 Midwest Lane. When the first responding unit, Tower Ladder 38, arrived, they found flames shooting through the roof of a two-story home. The firefighters went inside and launched an aggressive attack, managing to bring the fire under control in roughly 15 minutes. Unfortunately, the fire had already caused significant damage by burning through the roof at the back of the house, particularly in a large 2-1/2 story family or great room. The interior ceiling in this area had collapsed due to the intensity of the blaze. Thankfully, none of the firefighters were injured during the operation.

As someone who witnessed the incident firsthand, it’s clear that the firefighters did an incredible job under challenging circumstances. The structure was severely damaged, but their quick action likely prevented further spread of the fire. I’m grateful they were able to contain things so efficiently without any injuries.
