China Rubber Association plans to enact laws and regulations to promote the development of China's green tire industry

Fan Rende, president of the China Rubber Industry Association, said at the 2012 China Rubber Annual Conference that China's tire industry has reached a consensus on promoting the development of green tire industrialization. The association will refer to the European Union's tire labeling law and REACH regulations, and will combine the energy conservation and consumption reduction requirements of China. , Formulate green tire industrialization regulations in line with national conditions.

In recent years, China's tire industry has achieved rapid development. Tire production, export volume, and number of companies rank first in the world, and a complete tire industry system has been formed. But unavoidable is that the tire industry as a whole is "big but not strong," China's tire industry's corporate image and brand image and international brands there is a big gap, exports are facing tire labeling and other technical barriers and trade Friction and so on.

Fan Rende pointed out that according to the requirements of resource conservation and environmental protection, many countries have imposed higher requirements on tire performance, and more and more countries are brewing or have implemented tire label regulations. For example, since Japan began to implement the voluntary tire labeling system in 2010, the United States passed the regulations including the tire labeling regulations as early as six years ago, and the European Union and South Korea will implement the mandatory tire labeling regulations from November 1, 2012. By then, the global market share of green tires will increase by more than 15%.

"The tyres are labelled with similar energy-efficiency labels for refrigerators, and the performance of tyres can be improved through the classification of fuel consumption, wet grip, etc., thereby achieving energy conservation and environmental protection." Fan Rende said that China is only starting to develop similar standards and norms. There is a gap with Europe, America and Japan.

Fan Rende said that at present, more than 40% of tires produced in China are exported, and the European Union is the largest export market for automobile tires in China. Although the EU REACH (chemical registration, assessment, licensing, and restrictions) and tire labeling regulations are typical non-tariff trade barriers. However, at the same time, it is also an important opportunity for the transformation and upgrading of China's tire industry. It forces China to adjust the industrial structure of the tire industry as soon as possible, implement a low-carbon economic strategy, and promote the development of green tire industrialization.

Fan Rende revealed that the association had organized related companies to visit Europe and organized tire labeling training. The next step will be to develop a green tire industrialization regulation that conforms to international conditions and meets the national conditions.
