China’s Emerging Hume Business Strong Growth Area

It is expected that in the next few years, the Asian market will make outstanding contributions to MANN+HUMMEL 's outstanding performance. The MANN+HUMMEL Group plans to increase its turnover from 2.18 billion euros last year to 3.4 billion euros in 2018. The Asian market will account for about 25%, compared with 14% in 2010 and 4% in 2007. MANN+HUMMEL expects that the Asian market will double by 2018.

China and India have a vast territory and a total of one-third of the world’s population. These two markets will play a special role in MANN+HUMMEL’s development strategy. Changchun MANN+HUMMEL Fuwei Filters Co., Ltd., located in Jilin, has maintained a good momentum of development. It performed extremely well in 2010 and is one of the most successful plants of the MANN+HUMMEL group. MANN+HUMMEL plans to continue to increase Changchun’s turnover by 2018. The company mainly produces truck filters and crankcase ventilation systems for the local market and supports the operations of other MANN+HUMMEL companies. Changchun is MANN+HUMMEL's largest fuel pre-filter system production base, including local and Western automotive industry companies in China. In order to achieve the expected growth target, MANN+HUMMEL will expand its product range for industrial customers in Changchun and expand its automotive division. MANN+HUMMEL R&D will increase its R&D efforts and localize more applications.

The Chinese government has launched hundreds of millions of dollars in projects to develop infrastructure. For example, China plans to invest a total of 50 billion euros in 2015 to build 56 new airports, expand more than 90 existing airports and other large projects. The three production bases in Shanghai, Jinan and Changchun enable MANN+HUMMEL to provide localized services to its customers.
