At the meeting with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the president of Russian nanotechnology company Anatoly Chubais announced that the first batch of LED lights (light-emitting diodes) in Russia will be listed in stores in Moscow and St. Petersburg in early September. The first wholesale volume is 30000.
Anatoly Chubais also pointed out that the lamp will be introduced on September 2, and the first batch of test LED lights will be launched in stores in Moscow and St. Petersburg in early September. The LED lamp has a power of 60 watts and an energy consumption of 12 watts.
Anatoly Chubais added: LED lamp life is 50,000 hours, the retention period is 3 years, if the damage during this period will be replaced free of charge.
The president of the Russian nanotechnology company pointed out that the price of LED lights will be 1000 rubles lower than the price of similar lamps in the West. If the market proves the competitiveness of LED lights, then the price of LED lights will be reduced by 20 to 25 within 2 years. In addition, Anatoly Chubais believes that by 2014, the price of each LED lamp will drop to 250 rubles, or perhaps in 2013.
