Bridgestone to invest 26 billion rupees in India to increase tire production capacity

According to foreign reports, Bridgestone plans to produce trucks and passenger car radial tires at its plant in Kheda, Madhya Pradesh. Bridgestone also plans to establish a new plant in Chakan to increase the production capacity of radial tires and truck tires for passenger cars. The total investment of the two plants will reach Rs. 26 billion, and Hiromi Tanigawa, managing director of Bridgestone India, responded to the media interview on October 11, 2010.

The new Truck Tire factory will begin operations in May 2011, initially producing 200 tires per day. Mr. Tanigawa said that in 2006, Bridgestone entered the Indian market by producing radial tires suitable for road conditions in India.

The rapid economic growth in India has driven the development of the automotive industry, and the demand for radial tires for trucks and passenger cars has also continued to grow.
