As of June 23, the Acrylonitrile Plant at Qilu Petrochemical's Acrylic Fiber Factory celebrated a remarkable milestone: it has been operating smoothly for 400 consecutive days. This achievement not only doubled the original operational cycle but also set a new record for the longest continuous operation among similar facilities in China. The success is attributed to the plant’s dual focus on management and technological innovation.
Due to the nature of its production process, the 40,000-ton-per-year acrylonitrile unit had historically faced shutdowns every six months due to polymer blockages in pipelines and accumulation in towers. However, since May 2023, the plant implemented a comprehensive performance evaluation system for all staff. Factory and workshop levels conducted thorough assessments of teams and individuals based on task completion, democratic feedback, and innovative capabilities. Those who met the standards were eligible for bonuses, which significantly boosted employee motivation.
Employees actively participated in initiatives such as "inspecting hidden dangers, finding leaks, and checking blind spots," further optimizing operational indicators and narrowing the control range of key technical parameters. Previously, the "zigzag" operational curve became a straight line, and polymer buildup in the equipment was greatly reduced. A regular work schedule was established, with weekly device evaluation meetings, real-time monitoring of critical equipment, and analysis of operational data and lubrication conditions. Any abnormalities were addressed proactively, ensuring that dynamic equipment remained in optimal condition and always ready for operation.
To drive continuous improvement, the factory encouraged employees to contribute innovative ideas and organized technical teams to tackle challenges affecting safe operations. The successful implementation of the proposal to "reduce the T-104 load" not only removed obstacles to long-term operation but also achieved stable output without any reduction, generating over 1.2 million yuan in annual economic benefits. The "online cleaning of propylene and ammonia vaporizers" rationalization initiative replaced the old practice of shutting down for cleaning, saving time and resources. Additionally, the reform of the medium-pressure steam control valve completely resolved issues of unstable pressure in the steam network by changing the control valve’s air source signal, enhancing overall system stability and efficiency.
