Japan ShinanoKenshi, based in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, has introduced a groundbreaking electromagnetic drive piston pump called "MicroPump Aqua." This innovative device is capable of self-priming even when the liquid line contains gas, making it highly reliable for various applications. The prototype is set to be available by the end of June 2006. Traditional reciprocating piston pumps often produce significant noise, but this new model uses an advanced electronic control system and an optimized valve design to deliver exceptional quiet operation.
The MicroPump Aqua is ideal for high-flow applications, such as circulating water pipes or propylene glycol-based antifreeze. Mass production is scheduled to start in January 2007. One of its key features is the ability to operate without initial water, eliminating concerns about air mixing and offering greater flexibility in real-world conditions. Its compact size allows for easy integration into small devices, providing a high degree of design freedom while saving valuable space.
The pump operates using magnetic force, which eliminates the need for sliding seals and ensures long-term sealing performance. It runs on a DC power supply ranging from 7.5V to 13.2V, with a drive frequency of 15Hz. At 12V DC, it can achieve a maximum flow rate of 400 mL/min at room temperature, with a maximum pressure of 12kPa. The pump is designed to last over 8,000 hours, meeting RoHS compliance standards for environmental safety.
