The Float Valve Sub is a critical component in oil and gas exploration and drilling operations. It is typically installed at the top of the drill bit, with the float valve assembly positioned near the bit’s connection thread. This device can also be placed at a necessary point in the drill string.
Its primary function is to prevent mud from entering when connecting to a single pipe, stop mud from flowing back, and avoid hole blockage. In the event of a blowout, the nozzle automatically closes due to the valve cap on the float valve assembly, preventing blowout within the drill string.
Float valve subs are available in two models:
- **Model "F" – Plunger Type**
- **Model "G" – Flapper Type**
