On Wednesday at noon, Buffalo Grove police and firefighters responded to a two-vehicle collision on Weiland Road, just north of Deerfield Parkway. Both drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries. Due to significant damage on the driver's side of the sedan, emergency crews had to request a "pin-in" response to safely extract one of the patients.
At the scene, two fire engines, two ambulances, and Battalion 4 were deployed, along with several police officers to manage traffic and secure the area. One injured individual was taken to Northwest Community Hospital, while the other was transported to Condell Hospital for further evaluation.
The incident highlighted the quick response and coordination between first responders, who worked efficiently under challenging conditions. The use of specialized tools, such as the Holmatro rescue equipment, played a key role in the safe extraction of the victims.
