From what I’ve gathered from Eric Haak:
---
The images below were taken by me during a house fire on a sunny Sunday afternoon. I didn’t arrive until later in the incident, but the conditions were perfect—bright sunlight and clear blue skies made for some decent photo opportunities. One of the engines on scene was the former Dixmoor Engine 33, now part of Harvey's fleet. The fire had started on the back porch, and it was quite intense, producing a significant amount of smoke. Thankfully, the firefighters did an excellent job containing the flames to the porch area, preventing them from spreading to the attic or the rest of the occupied home.
Attached, you’ll find several photos capturing different moments of the response. The first image shows an E-ONE Typhoon fire engine at the scene, looking sharp against the backdrop of the blaze. Another shot highlights firefighters actively working with hoses to control the fire, their focus evident as they tackle the situation. There’s also a view of the same Typhoon engine from a slightly different angle, providing another perspective of the equipment involved. Finally, there’s an image featuring a Piece Velocity tower ladder in action, adding a dramatic touch to the chaos unfolding.
These pictures are just a small glimpse into the coordinated efforts required to manage such incidents. It’s always humbling to witness how quickly professionals can respond and contain situations like this one.
