Working fire in Vernon Hills, 9-5-14

This is coming directly from Sam Borcia: So, I just arrived on the scene of a fire incident at a townhouse located at 15 Timber Lane in Vernon Hills. This happened last Friday, September 5th, around 9:30 PM. Initially, it was reported as a smoke investigation, but as we got closer, it quickly escalated into an active fire situation. When I pulled up, the flames were mostly under control. The firefighters had already laid two hose lines and had the Mundelein Quint 432 aerial truck positioned on the roof. At that moment, there wasn't any visible fire or smoke left to deal with. They had also completed primary and secondary searches inside the building, confirming everyone was safe. Thankfully, the Red Cross has been contacted to assist anyone who might need support. I managed to snap a few photos of the fire trucks and the scene while everything was being wrapped up. Here's hoping everyone involved stays safe and the cleanup goes smoothly. [Attached are several photos of the fire scene taken by Sam Borcia] These images really capture the intensity of the situation earlier tonight. You can see how the firefighters worked together to bring the fire under control. It’s always good to know our local emergency teams are prepared to handle these kinds of incidents. [More photos attached] The aftermath looks intense, but it’s reassuring to see the hard work and dedication of the firefighters who responded so quickly. I’ll keep you updated if there’s any new information about what caused the fire or any further developments.
