Evonik to establish Russian lysine joint venture
On the 21st, China Drying News, Evonik Industries and Russia’s Rostov Autonomous Regional Government signed a memorandum of understanding in Berlin, Germany, and established a joint venture with the Varshavky Group, DonBioTech, to produce L-lysine in Volgodonsk, Russia. The joint venture will use the Evonik fermentation technology to produce L-lysine at the new facility. The new plant has a production capacity of about 100,000 tons/year of amino acid Biolys and is expected to be put into operation in 2014.
