Global Automotive Production of 80.1 Million Units Increased by 3% from the Year in 2011

Geely Automobile News According to the statistics of the International Automobile Manufacturers Association OICA, global car production reached 80.1 million vehicles in 2011, a year-on-year increase of 3%.

In 2011, the total automobile production in Asia was 40.6 million, European automobile production was 21.1 million, and American automobile production was 17.8 million.

In the European market, the European Union's 27 countries produced 17.7 million vehicles in 2011, and other European countries (including Russia and Turkey) produced a total of 3.4 million vehicles.

In the Americas market, NAFTA’s vehicle production in North America’s free trade zone was 13.5 million vehicles in 2011, and South America’s vehicle output was 4.3 million vehicles.

In the Asian market, Japan’s auto production was 8.4 million; South Korea’s auto production was 4.7 million; China’s auto production reached 18.4 million.

OICA expects this year's global auto output growth will remain at 3%.
