Baise, Guangxi Province: 15 tons of heavy rock caused by heavy rainfall rolled down through the building

Bose, May 22nd, early morning on May 22, heavy rains caused a 15 ton rock in Lingyun County, Baise City, Guangxi Province to roll down from the 100-meter stone hill and pass through a 4-story residential building in the mountain. The old man was trapped inside the building. Lingyun County Fire Brigade heard the news and rushed to the scene to rescue. After nearly half an hour of struggling to rescue, the old man was rescued.

The incident occurred in the town of Lingshui County, beside the Qishui Bridge. At 0:30 on the 22nd, the officers and men of the Lingyun County Fire Brigade arrived at the scene and found that a huge stone had been rolled over in the middle of a residential building. The wall of the residential building was hit by boulder and the entrance to the room on the first floor was blocked. An old man was trapped in the room and called for help. The scene was in disarray. There were a lot of people watching around the residents’ building.

As the boulders blocked the passage and severely affected the rescue work, the fire commanders ordered the officers and soldiers to carry the rescue tools and penetrate the narrow space to forcibly disassemble the security doors. After 30 minutes, the old man was rescued.

According to the understanding of the fire officers and soldiers, as Lingyun County suffered heavy rain for two days in a row, it caused the huge rock loosening and falling to cause this accident.
