The development of new energy vehicles in China highlights four major issues

Core Tip: In the past year, under the great attention and strong leadership of the party Central Committee and the State Council, China's national strategy of adhering to the development of new energy vehicles has not wavered, and the development of new energy automobile industry has achieved gratifying results: First, the scale of the industry continues to expand; The level of technology has improved significantly; third, the strength of enterprises has been significantly enhanced; and fourth, the supporting environment has been increasingly optimized.

In the past year, under the great attention and strong leadership of the party Central Committee and the State Council, China's national strategy of adhering to the development of new energy vehicles has not wavered, and the development of the new energy automotive industry has achieved gratifying results: First, the scale of the industry continues to expand; second, there is a technological level Significant improvement; Third, the company's strength is clearly enhanced; Fourth, the supporting environment is increasingly optimized. However, industrial development also faces new situations and new problems.

From a worldwide perspective, new energy vehicles have become the strategic direction for the development of automobile industries in various countries. Major automobile countries and enterprises have accelerated the drive for innovation and integration, and the industrial situation is undergoing profound changes. First, the global market is expanding at an accelerating pace. Second, multinational auto companies have increased investment in the field of electric vehicles, strengthened strategic cooperation, and accelerated electrification. Transformation.

From the perspective of China's industrial development, with the continuous increase in the penetration and retention of new energy vehicles, the development of China's new energy automotive industry has entered a new phase, and some problems of unbalanced development have also become increasingly prominent.

The first is that charging infrastructure is still a shortcoming of development. On the one hand, China's current vehicle-to-piles ratio is only 3.5:1. With the continuous increase in the number of new energy vehicles, the problem of insufficient supply of structural infrastructure for charging is becoming increasingly prominent, and the overall scale is still lagging behind. The number of public charging piles planned for construction in 2020 is about 500,000, but it still does not match the scale of development of new energy vehicles in the same period. On the other hand, the layout of charging facilities is not reasonable enough. The utilization rate of public charging piles is less than 15%, and the sustainable business development model has not yet been formed. There are two-way contradictions between the difficulty of profitability of operating companies and high consumer charging prices.

Second, the policy system still needs improvement. With the gradual withdrawal of the monetization support policy, it is necessary to study in advance the use of convenience and other follow-up succession policies and step up the layout. The supportive policies of the various departments of the central government, between the central government and the local governments, are still insufficient; different forms of local protectionism still exist, and some cities set up local directories, leading consumers to greatly reduce the choice of vehicle types and create markets. The fragmentation inhibits the vitality of development.

Third, the core technology still needs further breakthroughs. From the perspective of the power battery, the gap between high-end products and foreign countries is not big, but the overall innovation capability of the industry is not strong enough. In terms of advanced technology research and development, product consistency, and international development, there is still a small gap compared with multinational companies. Judging from the vehicle, in the true sense, most of the new generation of purely electric-driven platforms have not yet been incorporated into the company's R&D plans. Most of the existing platforms are retrofit platforms that utilize original fuel vehicles. The gap between fuel cell vehicles and the international advanced level is still widening, with enterprises as the main body, and the innovation system combining production, study and research is still in urgent need of improvement.

Fourth, the post-market circulation service system still needs to be improved. In terms of after-sales service, the quality assurance contents of different brands of new energy vehicles are uneven, the policies for replacing old batteries with new ones are not the same, and the after-sales service supporting system is lagging, which also has a negative impact on cultivating the consumer market. At the same time, the lack of evaluation standards for new energy vehicles used car market, the unsound circulation system, and the low rate of vehicle maintenance have affected the long-term development of the new car market.

In addition, the integration method has been released, but some companies are still facing greater pressure to achieve compliance. Taking 2016 as an example, 42 out of 123 vehicle manufacturers have failed to meet the requirements for fuel consumption standards, among which there are also production and sales scales. Large enterprises, many companies in the planning and layout of new energy automotive products, from the 2019 and 2020 points ratio requirements there is a certain gap.
