Top Ten News Technology in Rubber and Plastic Machinery Industry Become Bright Spots
In 2007, the China Petroleum and Chemicals Survey and Design Association's Rubber and Plastics Design Committee, along with the National Rubber and Plastics Machinery Information Center, released the top ten news highlights of the Chinese rubber and plastics machinery industry. A key theme that emerged was the significant role of technological innovation in driving the sector forward.
First, China solidified its position as the world’s largest producer and seller of rubber machinery. In 2007, total sales exceeded 8 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of over 10%. The country’s processing capacity reached more than 300,000 tons, while export volume hit 120 million U.S. dollars—an impressive 33.33% increase compared to the previous year.
Second, the highly anticipated “Big Rubber and Plastic Cup†China International Rubber Industry Summit Forum took place, bringing together industry leaders and experts to discuss future trends and innovations.
Third, Dalian Rubber & Plastics Machinery Co., Ltd. celebrated its 100th anniversary, highlighting its long-standing contribution to the industry.
Fourth, several technology centers were upgraded to national-level status. Companies like Yangyang Rubber Plastic Machinery Group, Qingdao Higher Education Software, Guilin Rubber Machinery Factory, and Tianjin Saixiang Technology now host these advanced research hubs, showcasing China’s growing technical capabilities.
Fifth, large-capacity intermeshing mixers were included in the national project aimed at revitalizing trade through science and technology. Yiyang Rubber Machinery’s model made it to the European market, marking the first large-scale rubber product from China to enter this region.
Sixth, the 3000-ton tire curing press from Guilin Rubber Machinery Factory successfully passed technical review. This is a critical piece of equipment for manufacturing heavy-duty radial tires and represents the largest vulcanizing machine currently produced in China.
Seventh, Fujian Jianyang Longxiang Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. collaborated on the development of giant steel engineering tire forming machines in sizes 49", 51", and 57".
Eighth, Tianjin Saixiang Science and Technology Co., Ltd. introduced an automatic one-time molding machine for passenger and light truck tires with diameters ranging from 24" to 28", demonstrating continued innovation.
Ninth, Qingdao launched the first domestically produced heavy-duty tire uniformity testing machine, filling a domestic gap and offering a viable alternative to imported systems.
Tenth, Daxi Plastic developed China’s first simultaneous stretch film unit, a technology that only a handful of companies globally are capable of producing. This achievement underscores the rising global competitiveness of China’s rubber and plastics machinery industry.
