Working fire in Bedford Park, 7-27-16

Here's a message from Eric Haak:

At around 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27th, the Village of Bedford Park experienced a fire at the Midway Windows and Doors warehouse. From what I saw, there was an exterior fire that burned through the metal-clad walls, igniting stock and shelves inside. It looked like the fire might have been fueled by a petroleum-based product, which made it especially dangerous. Firefighters used foam to contain the blaze, which flared up multiple times before finally being controlled. Although the images don’t show everything clearly, the initial fire must have been extremely intense—enough to cause the metal panels to fail, allowing flames to enter the building. This is based on my observations and not confirmed information.

The fire appeared to be under control after several hours of work by emergency crews. The scene was chaotic, with multiple fire trucks and specialized equipment deployed. It’s clear that the situation was serious, and the response was quick and professional. Local residents were kept informed, and no injuries have been reported so far. More details are expected as the investigation continues.
