2-Alarm apartment fire in Woodridge, 5-1-14
This message is from John Tulipano: At around 11:15 today, May 1st, 2014, DuComm dispatched the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District to investigate a possible fire at an apartment building located at 7723 Woodward in Woodridge, IL. As units were en route, DuComm received multiple calls—some reporting a sparking wire on the roof and others describing visible flames. First-arriving units reported heavy smoke coming from the building at 11:19. Battalion 89 then requested a box alarm for a serious fire in the attic of the apartment building at 11:26. Command soon escalated the situation by requesting a second alarm and confirmed that there was heavy fire on the third floor as well as in the attic of a three-story, 50x125 foot occupied apartment building.
