Renault's RMB7.2 billion Wuhan-made rush to “top gun”

According to an environmental impact assessment information disclosure document issued by the agency on December 19 last year, Dongfeng Renault Automobile Co., Ltd. plans to build 150,000 passenger vehicles in Huangkoukou, Hanyang District, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, with an investment scale of 720, 983,660,000. yuan.

According to the above documents, Dongfeng Renault has an annual production capacity of 150,000 passenger vehicles (including complete vehicles and engines). After completion, it will produce SUVs, MPV vehicles and supporting engines.

The reporter learned that because the project needs to be reported to the national environmental protection department, it will take 2 to 3 months to complete the implementation. According to the Wuhan government work report published this month, the local government will promote Dongfeng Renault to sign a contract this year. At this point, Wuhan will have five large-scale passenger car manufacturers. The output value of the automobile industry will strive to exceed 200 billion yuan.

In fact, only Nissan is currently holding hands with Dongfeng Motor in the Renault-Nissan Alliance. Under the slog of “competition” across the country, the localization project of Renault’s passenger vehicles “had caught up with the late set”.

In 2012, European car sales reached a record low of 12.05 million in 17 years. On Tuesday, Renault announced that it would cut 7,500 jobs or reduce its labor force by as much as 17% by 2015. Statistics show that Renault global sales fell 6.3% last year, only recorded about 2.55 million vehicles.

"90%" concentration in the automotive industry is not difficult to achieve

According to the plan of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by 2015, the industry concentration of the top 10 vehicle manufacturers will reach 90%, and 3 to 5 large-scale automobile enterprise groups with core competitiveness will be formed. According to the statistics, in 2010, the industry concentration of vehicle manufacturers was 82.2%, and the industry believes that the launch of future automobile projects will reflect this direction more.
