Electroplating wastewater treatment electrocoagulation and diatom concentrate integration technology

Electroplating of cyanide, hexavalent chromium, nickel, copper, zinc, cadmium and other heavy metal ions are highly toxic, causing serious harm to humans, animals, and the like are crops. At present, in the treatment technology of electroplating wastewater at home and abroad, the electroplating wastewater is treated by the iron oxidation method. Although the raw materials are convenient and inexpensive, the effluent color is poor and the amount of sludge is large. The treatment of electroplating wastewater by electrolysis is better, but the investment is large, the power consumption is high, and the treatment cost is high. The application of ion exchange method and membrane method can ensure that the electroplating wastewater reaches the standard discharge, and the water quality is good, but the operation process of regenerating and replacing the resin and the diaphragm is complicated, and it is inconvenient to grasp. From the comparison of the above methods, the chemical method is a relatively mature and reliable treatment process, but it must be processed according to the classification of chromium, cyanide, acid, alkali, oil, phosphorus, etc.

In view of the shortcomings of the above-mentioned electroplating wastewater treatment processes, long-term research by researchers at home and abroad has created a new technology for the integration of high-pressure pulse electrocoagulation technology and diatom soil technology to complete the treatment of electroplating integrated wastewater. In recent years, it has been widely used in Taiwan in China and in countries such as Japan and Indonesia.

Nanjing Jiaqing Environmental Protection Engineering Co., Ltd. introduced and digested this innovative technology in a timely manner, and organized scientific and technical personnel to conduct in-depth research to make this "two-in-one" technical achievement more perfect and mature. The high-voltage pulse electrocoagulation technology uses the principle of electrochemistry to generate an electrochemical reaction by applying a high voltage, converting electrical energy into chemical energy, and performing a redox reaction on the organic or inorganic substances in the wastewater through a single electrocoagulation device, thereby coagulating, Float, separating contaminants from the body of water. At the same time, it has strong oxidizing ability and can oxidize organic or inorganic compounds in water.

The role of diatomite technology in electroplating wastewater treatment is the supernatant after electrocoagulation treatment. Due to the influence of pH, there will still be some heavy metal ions, COD and so on. In order to remove these components more efficiently, flocculation must be performed using diatomite technology to ensure that the removal rate of various pollutants is as high as 99.9%. The diatomite technique separates and removes impurities that are symbiotic with diatoms during the diatom selection process, thus creating an unbalanced potential at the already balanced potential of the diatom surface. In the water treatment, the diatom concentrate treatment agent is added to the sewage in a small amount, and then dispersed in the water body after high-speed stirring, using the large pore area of the diatom and the strong adsorption force to make the fine and ultra-fine Metal ions are adsorbed onto the surface of the diatom. In addition, the flocculation effect of the modified soil is accelerated, which accelerates the deposition speed of the diatom floc and can be separated from the water body in a short time. Water can be concentrated in a wastewater reservoir, which is different from chemical treatment for different wastewater treatments. This is because the electrocoagulation system has the effects of reducing, oxidizing, neutralizing, flocculation, floating separation and the like on the organic and inorganic pollutants in the electroplating integrated wastewater, and completes the treatment of the mixed wastewater.

This "two-in-one" technology has the characteristics of short process flow, small equipment footprint, low one-time investment, high automation, stable operation and good governance effect. After being tested in four electroplating enterprises, the treatment concentration of electroplated chromium-containing wastewater and various comprehensive wastewaters is far lower than the national emission standards. The treatment cost per ton of electroplating integrated wastewater is 0.835 yuan to 1.46 yuan, which is only 1/8 to 1/4 of the chemical and other treatment methods.

Yirong Electroplating Factory of Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle Co., Ltd. was unable to divert all kinds of electroplating wastewater due to the original production process, which made the original chemical treatment of electroplating wastewater not meet the design goal and became a “heart disease” that plagued the leadership of the enterprise. In the second half of 2003, the company’s leaders made up their minds to conduct public bidding throughout the country to seek a “magic bullet” for pollution control. After many investigations and expert argumentation, the “High Pressure Pulse Coagulation Technology + Diatomite Soil Technology” of Nanjing Jiaqing Environmental Protection Co., Ltd. was adopted. After more than half a year of intense construction, the transformation was carried out on the basis of the old electroplating process, and a treatment system for treating nearly 3,000 tons of electroplating integrated wastewater was completed. And put into trial operation in 2004, so that the treatment effect is very obvious. At present, the processing complete processing system has been in operation for nearly one year, and not only the operating state is stable, but also the adaptability is strong. According to estimates, the average cost per ton of water treatment has dropped from the original 6 yuan to about two yuan. At the same time, all pollutant discharge targets have reached the national standards for electroplating wastewater discharge, and some partial water reuse has been realized.
