Autodesk Foundation Prepares for the Future Workforce With the Aspen Institute’s Future of Work Initiative, Focusing on U.S. Policy
Hosts a successful forum on Automation & AI for Good with Village Capital Today at AU London, we're excited to share that the Autodesk Foundation is continuing its commitment to supporting workers and workforce development through a new partnership with the Aspen Institute’s Future of Work Initiative. This nonpartisan effort aims to explore how automation and emerging technologies are reshaping the labor market and what policies can help workers adapt and thrive in this evolving landscape. By providing actionable insights and strategies, the initiative supports policymakers at all levels—federal, state, and local—to shape a more inclusive and resilient future of work. As new technologies and automation continue to reshape industries, the need for proactive solutions has never been greater. These trends are already impacting jobs and businesses today, and they will likely bring even more transformation in the coming years. Instead of waiting for disruptions to happen, it's essential to understand the challenges and develop forward-thinking solutions that support workers and drive economic growth. The Aspen Institute’s Future of Work Initiative focuses on creating policy solutions that: Our initial investment in workforce development was announced last fall at AU Las Vegas. As part of this effort, the Autodesk Foundation launched a new initiative with Village Capital to support startups using automation and machine learning tools to create positive impact for workers. Since announcing the partnership in November, we've received dozens of applications from innovative startups leveraging AI to help people succeed in the changing job market. Ten of these organizations were invited to our San Francisco office last week for a daylong forum titled Automation & AI for Good, where they presented their ideas and connected with mentors and industry leaders. During the event, we listened to pitches, met with the founders, and provided guidance to these companies driving meaningful change through automation and AI. Three startups were selected as winners and received funding and mentorship from Autodesk executives and other tech leaders.
